Exam strategy
When should I start preparing for GUJCET, JEE or NEET?
Class 11, from the first month. Roughly half of the GUJCET, JEE Main and NEET syllabus is Class 11 material, so a student who starts in Class 12 is preparing two years of content in one year while also sitting a board exam. Starting early is not about extra hours, it is about not compressing.
Why Class 12 is too late for most students
Class 12 already contains a full board syllabus and a board exam. Adding the whole Class 11 entrance base on top of it is the single most common reason capable students underperform.
The students who manage it are usually the ones who were already strong in Class 11, which rather proves the point.
What starting in Class 11 actually looks like
Not longer hours. The same chapters, taught once, then practised in both the written board format and the timed MCQ format from the first month.
Plus an error log kept from the beginning, so the same mistake is not still being made in March of Class 12.
If you are already in Class 12
It is not lost, but the plan has to change. Prioritise by weightage and by what you are closest to converting, rather than starting at chapter one of Class 11.
This is exactly the diagnosis a repeat-year student makes, done a year earlier.
